Vuse’s carbon neutral status is part of a bigger ambition to become an environmentally sustainable vape brand with initiatives including:
→ Cutting single use plastics from packaging – cut the wrap has saved 100 tonnes of plastic or the equivalent of four million plastic bottles in 2020*
→ A global device collection scheme adhering to WEEE Regulations and playing a part in making sure that the amount of electrical products sent to landfill sites is reduced.
→ Vuse has now introduced Vuse Take-Back to try and find more sustainable ways to dispose of Vuse pods and Vuse Go devices to prevent them from ending up in landfill or being fully incinerated.
* Plastic saving per annum was calculated from 2020 global sales volumes and the plastic bottles comparison was based on a 22.9g bottle weight, representative weight of 500ml commercially available soft drink bottles (May 2020). Results have been verified by an independent body.

Vuse’s carbon neutrality has been independently validated by Vertis, an environmental commodity trading and carbon advisory firm, based on product Life Cycle Assessment data provided by an independent third party.
3. WILL VUSE CONTINUE TO OFFSET IN THE FUTURE?expand_more
Whilst our efforts in our decarbonisation journey will continue, our ambition is to offset the remaining amount of carbon emissions until we achieve net zero. Vuse is committed to reducing its environmental impact and has a strong decarbonisation pipeline that is already being implemented. It’s not possible to reduce our entire emissions in the short-term, therefore we have decided to undertake carbon offsetting in the meantime. Our decarbonisation activities are based on the outcomes from the Life Cycle Assessment.
Carbon Neutrality
1.1. Based on Vuse Go, Vuse ePod, ePen, eTank mini, Alto devices and consumables internal sales forecast (calculated March 2022) for 12 months starting from April 2022. Vuse will have reduced its carbon emissions by circa 55% (as of March 2023) through its internal sustainability initiatives since launched in 2019 and has now offset the remaining circa 45%.
1.2. Vuse’s carbon neutrality has been independently validated by Vertis based on product Life Cycle Assessment data provided by an independent third party Intertek. Vertis is a MiFID licensed investment firm with 20 years of experience in the carbon markets. Their ICROA membership and due diligence of projects guarantee high-level credits from internationally recognised standards.
1.3. Vuse’s neutrality has been delivered through carbon reduction with the remaining carbon off set through reforestation projects including a project in Uruguay to plant trees across a 21,298-ha area where intensive cattle grazing has eroded soil and degraded land. As well as removing carbon dioxide and delivering better soil quality and biodiversity, the project will also result in increased availability and quality of employment.
